LAST APRIL 28, AN AB IN DEVELOPMENT STUDIES STUDENT FROM DLSU WAS RECOGNIZED as one of the 2021 Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leaders (GTLs) organized by We Are Family Foundation (WAFF).
Emmanuel Mirus Ponon was chosen for his work on youth education for collective action and his advocacy for disadvantaged communities. He was among the 40 teens chosen out of hundreds of applicants for their social good innovations, organizations, projects, and promise for a more just, equitable, and peaceful future.
In October 2019, he established Youth Advocates for the Philippines which became the ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN) in 2020.
AYAN is a nonprofit organization that paves the way for Southeast Asian youth to experience socio-civic involvement while exploring their ASEAN identity. Currently present in eight Southeast Asian countries, AYAN’s mission is to instill a passion for service and a sense of initiative in Southeast Asia’s youth to collectively create impact.
WAFF is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the visions of a global family by creating programs that promote cultural diversity while nurturing and mentoring the vision, talents, and ideas of young people who are positively changing the world.
