De La Salle University officially unveiled the Gary A. Yupangco and Nita L. Yupangco Discussion Room, named in honor of the parents of DLSU alumnus and President of Yupangco Electronics Corporation (YEC), Mr. Jose Mari “JM” L. Yupangco.
Held last May 19 at the 8th floor of the Henry Sy, Sr. Hall, the event was graced by Mr. JM Yupangco’s family and the YEC team members.
Joining them were DLSU administrators led by President Br. Bernard Oca FSC, Senior Vice President Ramon Trajano, Advancement and Alumni Relations Office Executive Director Edwin Reyes, The Libraries Director Christine Abrigo, and Dr. Vixie Tibon of the RVR COB, Department of Management and Organization.
The University hosted the event to honor the shared commitment of YEC in the development of Lasallian education in the country. On March 24 last year, it also hosted the ceremonial turnover of a donated Yamaha digital mixing console of YEC to DLSU.The donated equipment is now housed at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium.
The marker unveiling coincided with the 95th birthday of Yupangco family matriarch, Mrs. Nita L. Yupangco.
