DLSU Holds Topping-Off Ceremony for the Evelyn D. Ang Hall

De La Salle University marked a significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence and innovation with the topping-off ceremony of the Evelyn D. Ang Hall on January 24, 2025, at its Laguna Campus.

The event was graced by members of the Ang family, led by Mr. Philip Ang, Chairman of the Evelyn D. Ang Scholarships and Charities Inc. (EDASCI), alongside university board of trustees, administrators, faculty, and project partners.

In his remarks, DLSU President Br. Bernard S. Oca FSC highlighted the significance of the Evelyn D. Ang Hall, stating: “It symbolizes our unwavering commitment to advancing biomedical engineering and health technologies, driving meaningful contributions to society, and elevating the quality of life for countless individuals. More than just a physical structure, it embodies our dedication to innovation, excellence, and service to the community.”

Speaking on behalf of Mr. Philip Ang, Mrs. Carmina Ang, Executive Vice President of EDASCI, spoke with heartfelt optimism and anticipation: “Through this hall, we are both literally and figuratively creating a space that reflects Auntie Evelyn’s belief in fostering growth, learning, and giving—a space where generations of possibilities can unfold.”

The Evelyn D. Ang Hall will house the Evelyn D. Ang Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies (EDA-IBEHT), a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to transformative research and innovation.

Dr. Nilo Bugtai, Director of EDA-IBEHT, shared: “This facility provides space for pioneering research and hands-on learning in biomedical engineering, symbolizing EDA-IBEHT’s mission to transform healthcare technology in the Philippines while honoring Evelyn D. Ang’s enduring impact on this vision.”
